Help V.V. Lightbody Make LP 3!

Hi everyone! V.V. Lightbody here.

I’m a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and budding producer in Chicago, IL, and I am seeking financial support to make the 3rd V.V. Lightbody album.

The new record is written and the studio time is booked! I have a wonderful team behind me to help these 10+ songs come to life. If you’ve seen V.V. Lightbody play in the last year or so, you’ve gotten a taste of what this record will be. I feel that I have found my stride as a songwriter: groovy, direct, and with a close eye for detail. I’m deeply proud of this batch of songs and making this record will be an important step for me as an artist.

If you’ve ever been moved by a V.V. song, lyric, or performance - or if you just want to support the work of independent artists - this is where I could really use your help. I am not able to fund this record with my income alone, and I am asking the music-loving community that has supported me so much in the past to help make this next record a reality.

The $12,000 from this fundraiser will go towards:

- studio rental

- engineer fees

- musician fees + featured musician fees

- recording overdubs & editing

- mixing

- mastering

Any additional money raised will go directly to other album-related costs (album artwork, vinyl pressing, etc.). I will be making this record as cost effectively as I can by doing the bulk of the editing and a substantial amount of the production from my home studio. For extra support, I will also be applying for grant funding. These efforts, combined with income from V.V. shows in the coming year, will help us to make the record we want to make.
