Help Wakf El Rif Building - Beirut Port Explosion
From between the ruins of Wakf el Rif, the controversial Beirut port explosion ripped through the densely populated building. A life was lost and 9 families are without shelters.
Our homes were shredded apart, the walls disappeared, the windows and doors were all broken into pieces. One explosion has taken everything from us. Lives were taken, property completely destroyed, family album pictures gone, many of the family members injured and all private transportation vehicles were also destroyed.
The families are now living in dissonance, not knowing how long or even if they will ever come back to their beloved building. The catastrophy has been amplified by the worst economic crisis in Lebanon amid the spread of Corona virus.
Wakf El Rif is a building that completed construction in 1944 in the heart of Gemmayze; One of the liveliest and traditional streets in Beirut that directly faces the controversial Beirut port explosion. The building is comprised of 9 apartments and 4 commercial stores.
What was once a traditional staple of Lebanese architecture and culture, now is in near apocalyptic ruin.
The money collected will be used to cover the following expenses:
- Furniture(Bedrooms, Diningroom, livingroom..)
- Kitchenware
- Electronics
- Vehicles
Thank you so much for your time and for your generosity during this moment. With an already collapsing economy and now no port, your donations are a godsend for Mr. Abdo Maroun (friend of "Wakf el Rif" families).
