Help Walnut Hills' Robotics Team Get To World's!

The Walnut Hills High School Robotics Team, The NUTS!, has officially qualified for the 2023 FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship, and we need your help!

Founded in 2012, the WHHS NUTS! are a competitive robotics team that competes in the FIRST Tech Challenge league. The team is a student club sanctioned by Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, but is not funded by the school or by any public funds. Although The NUTS! usually receive generous funding from the WHHS Alumni Association and corporate donors, that funding is not guaranteed every year and anything not covered by private donations and team fundraising must be covered by the team parents. The team has already had to cover the coats of its regular 2022-23 season schedule, including about $3000 to host an Ohio State Qualifier competition at WHHS, inviting 23 other schools, and traveling to three out-of-town competitions, requiring overnight stays, culminating in their successful first place finish at the Kentucky State Championship!

The team has now qualified for the World Championship three years in a row! This will be the fifth tine The NUTS! have made it to World's! The World Championship will be held April 19th through April 22nd 2023 in Houston, TX.

100% of fundraising for the trip will be used for:

-Team, coach, and parent chaperones travel (airline tickets)

-Extra baggage and shipping fees for robotics equipment

-Van rental in Houston

-Team, coach, and parent chaperones lodging costs

-Team, coach, and parent chaperones meals

This itrip to World's is the culmination of countless hours, days, months, and years worth of work and sacrifice by our players, volunteer coaches, and parents. Our goal is to provide this amazing opportunity for these student competitors, while also proudly representing Walnut Hills High School and Cincinnati on a world stage. Plus, we hope to bring a World Championship back to Cincinnati!

The funds required to make this trip happen are too significant for our parents to bear on their own, especially after already paying for the regular season and state championship. The NUTS! sincerely appreciate your consideration and support during this unbelievably exciting season.
