On Sunday 17th November 2024, tragedy struck the Backhouse Family.
This wasn't just a house - it was the heart of their dream property, click to view https://youtu.be/nXtnD-s12rU?si=A7uqt7yAfb1DvheN
While Ashleigh Backhouse was winning the Equitana Masters Reining Competition in Victoria, her father Warren, was watching on, ready for his own run. Meanwhile, back in Queensland, Carol was desperately trying to save their home as it burnt to the ground.
Warren and Ashleigh learned the devastating news while on the road. With no choice but to keep driving, they began the long journey back to Queensland, processing the reality of what had happened to their family home.
This wasn't just a house - it was the heart of their dream property. A beautifully renovated Queenslander , filled with a lifetime of irreplaceable memories: every treasured photo of their five children growing up, every hard-earned buckle and trophy saddle. All of it is gone.
Warren and Carol have given so much to the wider horse and cattle community. Year after year, they've supported others with free clinics, endless advice, and a willingness to lend a hand whenever it's needed. Now, it's time for us to give back to them.
Let's come together to help this incredible family rebuild their lives. Every dollar makes a difference, and your support will go directly to helping Warren and Carol start over.
Let's show the Backhouse family the love and strength of the horse and cattle community.
