Help Warrior Gunny Alvarez Get Back to His Feet!!

Donation protected
Gunnery Sergeant Jose J Alvarez Jr is a United States Marine Corps Retired Veteran who has served our country 21+ years. During his time in the force he served in foreign war combat tours, capacity of drill instructor, school of infantry, officer candidate school, and MOS training schools. His selfless service spans three decades. He then retired from active duty in 2009 when he decided to return to his community where he was raised to dedicate his service to youth outreach in a high-risk urban area. He became a MCJROTC instructor where he was honored as a Distinguished Teacher by the City of Chicago. His commitment and passion to help others was evident by his involvement as a head coach for wrestling, soccer, baseball, and several teen engagement teams. Additionally, he partnered with the Chicago Police Department in his local area for teen violence prevention and community relationship building. Jose sacrificed his personal life to mentor and service to at-risk youth in his community.

Unfortunately, in 2020 at the peak of the pandemic, he lost his job forcing him to seek employment in other communities. This loss created a financial burden. Jose is now a disabled veteran and recently experienced a traumatic medical emergency. On May 3, 2023 Jose had a massive heart attack resulting in a quadruple bypass heart surgery. By the grace of God, he survived this heart attack that has now changed his life. As he begins his path to recovery, he will need to focus on regaining his physical strength and cannot work for a minimum of 6 months resulting in a loss of employment income and therefore in need of some financial assistance. Along with his financial burdens and sudden medical emergency, he also was recovering from a severe car accident adding to his financial difficulties.

Jose gave himself to serve our nation, the community he came from and impacted any area he would serve for the better good. If you can find it in your heart, please assist this proud Marine and civil servant with his financial hardship. We appreciate your consideration and donations. Thank you and God Bless.
