Help Warsash Wasps Football Club !!!

Donation protected
Hi, firstly thank you for taking the time to read this.

Warsash Wasps Sports and Football Club (Wasps) was formed in 1977 to provide local children with a football team that would help them develop their football ability.

This season we will have 24 teams, and players from mini to adult. There are 4 girls teams, 16 boys teams and an adult mens team in our line-up, playing in 6 different leagues on Saturdays and Sundays. We also have our hugely popular Saturday Morning Development Squad with over 60 children from Year R, Year 1 and Year 2.

A total of almost 370 players and over 60 volunteers make Warsash Wasps SFC one of the largest community football clubs in Hampshire.

The Warsash Wasps Sports and Football Club in New Road provides a space for hundreds of children to play football every week.
For over 20 years, Wasps has been the host of a popular summer tournament that over a thousand children from all over Hampshire take part in. This tournament caters to children aged 7 to 12 and attracts scouts from numerous Premier League academies.

This tournament is one of the clubs largest sources of income and this year it is at risk of being cancelled after the grass pitch was targeted by badgers.

In the last five weeks, holes have appeared on the pitch which has rendered it unusable. In a bid to find what was causing the holes, CCTV was installed - revealing the furry culprits.

We have had experts out to help us who have said they believe the badgers are digging for grubs in the pitch and therefore a repellent has been applied. But if this does not work, then the club will have no option but to cancel their upcoming tournaments happening in June.

Even if we are fortunate enough that the tournaments go ahead this badger issue will be an ongoing problem that will drain valuable funds from the club.

Thousands and thousands of children over the years will have either played for a Wasps team or used the great facilities at the club. If each of these families donated just £1 to getting the pitch back to its usual impeccable standard will go a huge way to help out.

Money raised from this page will go towards restoring and protecting the Warsash pitch for years to come and help in our attempts to stop this happening again.
