Help Watersports Guru

Sadly I’m reaching out to our beautiful Kingscliff and North Coast community, seeking help for Tim Jack Adams and his business, ‘Watersports Guru’.

On 20th July 2023, the Watersports Guru trailer was stolen, then on 1st August, it was found at Burleigh Heads. Unfortunately, all the equipment was missing but the ever-optimistic Tim, is just happy to have his trailer home again, all be it without his equipment.

What was stolen you ask?

Numerous Kayaks, SUPs, paddles and the beloved GIANT SUP. Tim estimates this equipment to be worth over $20000. Unfortunately, it’s not just the equipment though, it's also his loss of income during this time.

Now many of you know Tim, either through renting a Kayak or SUP or even going out on his famous turtle swims. Tim over the years has raised money for many community groups himself and helped our community in many ways too.

I know Tim through all the tireless work he did in the 2022 floods. Tim’s leadership was unfathomable, as he was the main coordinator of the rescues around Chinderah. I still remember turning up at the footy grounds, to assist with the rest of the community that day. Tim had been rescuing people all night and worked until he knew everyone was safe. We all relied on Tim to give us information of who to rescue and who needed assistance. He coordinated getting food and water even dropped to those stuck on the Tweed Coast overpass too. Tim then helped in the weeks after with the clean up.

Tim has been operating for almost 14 years now and this loss has really hit home, especially in the lead up to his busiest time of the year. Tim is blown away by the support the community has already given him, so even if you can give just $5, it will all assist in getting this Kingy business up and running again.
