Help With End of Life Expenses for Wayne Lucy
Donation protected
Update:
I'm saddened to share that on Saturday May 6th at approximately 7:00 P.M. our beloved friend Wayne moved on from this world.
There will be two memorial services. One in Ohio and one in Florida.
Unfortunately Wayne did not have life insurance. Please continue to donate to help cover Wayne's end of life expenses.
Thank you.
The Florida celebration is planned. On Sat Jun 3rd there will be a Naples Tour Trolley to all of Wayne's favorite spots, ending in a gathering of friends telling "Wayne stories" at a yet undetermined location. Naples Hop on, Hop off Tour Trolley is donating use of a trolley and one of Wayne's former friends as a driver. Drinks, food and fun fellowship included.
Ohio is TBD.
Original post:
Hi everyone, my name is Jim Geary, a classmate and most importantly a friend of Wayne Lucy.
As some of you may know, and some may be finding out for the first time, Wayne has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and just started chemotherapy.
Wayne left Vermilion for Florida many years ago but he's always made his way back home, where he is the life of the party while visiting friends and family. Wayne is a true friend who has always been supportive of others in need and is a great listener.
It's time we help support Wayne through this process.
Wayne is in good spirits and is prepared to kick cancers ass. However, the financial burden is taking its toll.
The diagnosis has caused Wayne to retire early, leaving him with no income. But he is eager to get back to work when the time comes. He has applied for disability, but when that eventually goes through it will only cover a small fraction of the costs.
As you can expect, the treatment is very expensive, it costs Wayne approximately $700 out of pocket per visit.
Wayne needs funds that will help with the co-payments and cover any other bills he may have.
The financial goal is started at $79 as Wayne was a 1979 graduate of Vermilion High School. Let's help Wayne by crushing this goal!
