Help We Walk with Shawn move forward.
Tax deductible
Hey neighbors! We Walk with Shawn is connecting communities across the country by hosting neighborhood walks. But we need your help today to organize more community walks and to establish Shawn's newly incorporated certified charity, More Thank A Walk, Inc., a 501(c)(3). This nonprofit organization will allow Shawn to focus full-time on delivering a mission of building community through education, fitness, and the arts.
As of Sunday, November 13th, 2022, #WeWalkWithShawn will have completed 100 community walks in more than a dozen states and Washington, DC. At each walk, we see neighbors empowered to come together and get to know one another regardless of their backgrounds. We've met so many special people on all of these walks. It's a joy to see new friendships emerge and walls broken down! At each walk, lives are being changed, one heart at a time!
Please donate to this GoFundMe page today to continue bringing moments of healing and connection to more communities around the country. We have some big goals we'd like to achieve in 2023 and need your help to make these dreams a reality!

All donations made after November 7th, 2022 will be received by the 501(c)(3) More Thank A Walk, Inc. (EIN: 88-1029213), a certified charitable organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Consulting a tax or legal professional in your area will be a great way to ensure your gift may be deducted appropriately.

Shawn is a 30-year-old Black man who has lived in the same neighborhood his entire life with his family, who have lived there for over 50 years. When he became fearful of walking in his own neighborhood alone, Shawn posted on Nextdoor and Facebook. His neighbors quickly volunteered to walk with him, behind him, and alongside him. When he showed up for his walk on June 4th, over 75 neighbors were there to support him. This is how #WeWalkWithShawn was born. Since this first walk, Shawn has organized local and national walks to help others who feel the same way he has.
His mission is to unite neighborhoods and empower others to get to know one another better, regardless of race or walk of life.
Shawn and his friends completed a 25-city campaign in cities across the nation to continue his mission, specifically in areas where individuals have reached out to him asking for support. If you are interested in further sponsoring Shawn or a city walk, you can send a message through this GoFundMe page or follow and DM on Instagram @wewalkwithshawn.
