Help Wendy after Sally
In the wee hours of Sept. 16th, as
Hurricane Sally slammed ashore of the AL/FL gulf coast,
my Pine Forest HS friend,
Wendy Richardson- Collins began
to call out for help. She, her daughter & two young grandchildren were trapped.
They had gone to bed, in her Foley, AL home, not really expecting Sally to come their way & woke up to
water inside her house.
As the water rose and the storm ragged outside, all they could do was
huddle on her bed. The whole brand new neighborhood was underwater. They were eventually rescued by
The Cajun Navy & the local fire department.
They are safe...
That is the really the important part!!!
The water has receded and the
clean up has begun.
They have lost everything...all of
their personal belongings, the kids
toys, her 4 Runner as well as her
daughter’s car.
Nothing is covered by insurance
since they don’t have “flood
insurance.”. (They aren’t in a flood
zone)
Still no power as they pick up the
pieces.
I know many of her friends may be dealing with their own clean up. But for those of us that live out of town and want to help, I thought this may be a good place to start.
No amount too small.
I figure if we all pitch in it may go a
long way to help our friend!
(Okay, PFHS Class of ‘88
Pensacola, Florida-
Let’s see what you can do...)
Of course all help is appreciated &
accepted from all friends not just
Old Classmates.
