Hello! As you all know, our dear friend Wendy suffered devastating injuries as a result of being attacked by a black bear while walking her mom's dog in southside Virginia on October 5th. Her life was miraculously saved by pure luck and the assistance of her neighbors and first responders that quickly evacuated her via helicopter to the trauma doctors at the Critical Care Hospital at VCU Health in Richmond. She has spent the past month fighting her way to recovery in the hospital, enduring repeated surgeries and keeping a great attitude through the whole ordeal. Although Wendy has health insurance, her medical bills will be substantial.
