Help Wesinda & Iris after losing husband, father

As we celebrate Independence Day today, one family just buried their hero and needs our help. 
Sgt. Amos Stampley, of Mississippi, served our country for more than 13 years, including five years deployed. 
For many reasons, Amos decided not to re-enlist. 
Together with his wife, Wesinda Brown Stampley, originally from a small farming community in Kansas, and their beautiful daughter Iris, Amos started the next chapter in his life. 
The last few years have been very challenging for the Stampley family. Unfortunately, the hidden wounds Amos suffered were not healed. 
Day after day Amos worked to be the husband, father and man he wanted to be. Just recently the Stampley’s decided to move from their beloved Washington state (of 15 years) back to Wesinda’s home state of Kansas to be near family and start fresh. 
In a cruel twist of fate, Amos experienced a cardiac event while driving to work just days before the family was set to move, and sadly passed away. 
Amos was buried in Mississippi on July 2. Amos didn’t file for benefits with the VA before his death. 
Many of the military veteran benefits and entitlements that Amos earned that would serve to support Wesinda and Iris weren’t claimed ahead of Amos’ death and while those avenues are being explored and there may eventually be some recourse, will most definitely not be resolved quickly nor likely at the level commensurate with the service or sacrifice of the Stampley family. 
As you know, so many veterans and their families have paid a very steep cost. Today as we celebrate, I’d ask you to give a little to the Stampley family in honor of this great country & their sacrifice. Give for the little girl that will never see her father again. For the wife that stood by her husband through so many ups and downs for the last 17 years. Give to help them navigate their future that includes many unknowns because we know stories like theirs are too common. Give because we are thankful for American heroes like Amos, Wesinda and Iris. Thank you for your kindness.
