Help Whitley and Family Overcome Cancer
Donation protected
Whitley needs our help! On Saturday May 25th Whitley shared publicly with us that she is facing an aggressive form of breast cancer. We found it exemplary and noble (but not surprising) that even while facing the tremendous weight of all these feelings and emotions, and in sharing the heaviest news she’s ever shared in her life that the primary interest and focus of her post was her concern for us, her friends. She spent valuable time and energy teaching us and encouraging us to perform self checks, surely in hopes of protecting us from the exact situation she’s facing right now. This is a perfect example of the type of person she is and her character and it’s exactly why she deserves our support!
A diagnosis like this brings with it a lot of questions, unknowns, and uncertainties regarding the future. The value of time instantly changes. Every second suddenly matters. As you can imagine, this is especially true for Whitley; a young, 34 year old wife and mom of 3 beautiful kids who whole heartedly depend on her for nurture, strength, love, and support.
There’s still some questions that need to be answered but she’ll get a porta cath placed this week, start chemotherapy soon, and will eventually have surgery. Without family here in El Paso this news puts both Whitley and Harold out of work for the foreseeable future, placing a huge financial burden on their plates with medical bills and possible flights to and from MD Anderson in Houston.
We’re asking all of Whitley’s friends and family to consider how much you would be willing to sacrifice to support them. Can you donate 1 hour of work? 10% of a paycheck? Maybe sacrifice a few trips to Starbucks or fast food and put it towards a good cause where you can make a difference instead. Whatever you can donate, big or small will be much appreciated by this family. Thank you for all your support! May God bless you all!
