Wig in a Box Community events & emergency fund
Donation protected
Wig in a Box has become a large part of the Bristol queer community but it is funded completely by ticket sales & self funding. Due to the current pandemic, I have lost the majority of my income, ability to create community events and support the community I love so much.
I'm looking for some money so I can set up some online platforms to be able to professionally edit and stream events, create groups and pay performers, DJs, techs and myself over the next couple of months.
Update: Due to the overwhelming generosity shown we have done the maths and feel half the money raised should be put into an emergency fund for members of the queer community in Bristol that will have been put in a vulnerable position in the next few weeks. This will be used to provide funds for essentials & help for those most in need in our community. We are seeking advice on how to best manage this.
INFORMATION FOR FREELANCERS & PERFORMERS
For performers please take a look at what the government currently is putting into place for those who are freelance and news on your rights when renting etc. and what you can claim and information about the current rights for renters.

We hit our £1,000 goal which is INCREDIBLE...but the last few days have very much shown that a lot of our community are going to be at risk . The £1,000 was set to keep us able to create shows online etc. but any extra we make will be put in the pot as a community pot and will help keep people afloat. We all love what we do so we will be producing SO MUCH content to entertain you over the next few months and cannot thank you enough for your continued support and generosity.

Thanks so much again.
