Help Wilcannia with their Covid outbreak
The people in Wilcannia need our help.
Covid-19 has entered their community and the situation on the ground is dire.
Monica Kerwin (in video) works at the Aboriginal women's and children's refuge in the town and generally keeps her community going with her wonderful, caring community work.
Please watch Monica's video right to the end.
Ignore what you are seeing on the television news; there is no food security in Wilcannia - something we city dwellers take for granted - and, when I was working out there, the one local shop charged $6 for a loaf of bread.
The closest supermarkets are a 4 hour round trip away, and, with Covid restrictions, are hard to access. However, Monica will find a way to get food and other necessities to her community in need.
All your generous donations will be transferred to the people in Wilcannia, with guidance from Monica and other elders, who will use them to help the Covid positive families, the elders and, of course, our Wilcannia Soccer Kids.
