Help It's Raining Squirrels and Opossums
Donation protected
Wild Hart is a non-profit organization that raises funds and supplies for wildlife rehabilitation. At Wild Hart, we gather supplies and allocate funds for veterinary costs to support rehabbers in caring for wildlife. Wildlife rehabbers are dedicated volunteers who provide medical treatments, food, and shelter for animals until they can be released back into the wild.
We specialize in rehabilitating mammal wildlife, including squirrels, cottontail rabbits, opossums, and raccoons. All our activities are funded either out of pocket or through donations. As wildlife rehabilitation advocates, we provide food, shelter, and medical care for orphaned and injured animals, which involves purchasing specific formulas and feeding tools like nipples, feeding tubes, and syringes. Additionally, we also provide housing for young animals over winter until they are ready to be released in the spring.
This calling is not inexpensive; the cost of feeding and housing an orphaned baby animal for a single week can amount to around $100 without even factoring in medicine or veterinary care. In addition to supporting rehabbers, Wild Hart is dedicated to public education. We strive to help finders, people who locate wildlife in need, know how to recognize an orphaned animal, provide temporary care, and connect with a rehabber.
