Will, never runs Boston again, a permanent life in bed.

We have invented a product that will help Will and others.
Will is my brother, a man whose resilience and determination once led us to run marathons together—Dallas, San Francisco, and Boston.

Those days were filled with race pictures, laughter, and memories of pushing ourselves to the limit. Will was the kind of person who thrived on challenges, both in life and on the racecourse.Unfortunately, life threw Will the hardest challenge yet. Three years ago, COVID struck, leaving him bedridden and quadriplegic. Though we are so fortunate to still have him with us, the road has been long, painful, and filled with hospital stays, ICU visits, and endless rehabilitation efforts. As his primary family caregiver, I’ve witnessed firsthand the ups and downs, the victories and the setbacks.

One of our biggest fears materialized about a year ago when Will fell out of bed at his skilled nursing facility. Unable to use the nurse call system, he lay there, helpless and bleeding, unable to call for help. The device in his room was simply useless to someone in his condition. That night, I realized we needed a solution—not just for Will, but for the millions of people in similar situations.

I’ve included one of the less intense photos of his healing head a few weeks after the fall, a stark reminder of how critical this need is.

While, Will now spends most of his time in a bed, with a handheld device that remains out of reach, he still thinks like the marathoner he once was.

His mind is sharp, and his spirit is strong, but the limitations of his body—and the systems designed to help him—create unnecessary risks. Every day he faces the possibility that he may not be able to get the help he needs in time.

But here’s the amazing part: We decided to take action. As a professor at the University of Texas Dallas and an engineer at heart, I teamed up with the university's Engineering Design Team to help me develop a device that will transform the lives of people like Will—those who are unable to use traditional nurse call systems. The device is a groundbreaking solution to ensure that no one lies on the floor waiting for help. It’s more than a tool—it’s hope.
Here’s the team behind this innovation and a glimpse of the device.

We named the product after my brother Will, as a tribute to his unbreakable spirit.

The device we’re building will help not only him but millions of others who face similar struggles. This is where I’m asking for your help. We need funds to bring this product from development to production, so we can get it into the hands of those who need it most

Your donation, big or small, will help us cover research, development, and distribution costs. With your support, we can prevent future tragedies and give families like ours the peace of mind they deserve.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. Will’s journey from marathoner to innovator has been a tough one, but with your help, we can ensure his legacy goes beyond his own race.
Together, we can make a real difference. Here is the invention
