Help Will Hallewell Bring The Nouns Game to Life

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Will Hallewell. I have been in love with board games ever since my dad used to play them with us when we were kids. Usually, it was some World War II strategy game, but occasionally we would delve into Monopoly or even Yahtzee; something that we kids would appreciate (we never beat Dad, but we appreciated the easier games).

I always thought that sitting around playing board games was a nice way to spend time with the family, and 50 years later, I still do.

So now, I’m thrilled to introduce you to my most recent project, The Nouns Game. This game is rated for ages five and up. Some of the physical challenges may be a little difficult for someone that age, but they can always be replaced by dice challenges, which are just based on the roll of the dice.

The game is comprised of either physical or dice challenges. You can play as individuals or you can play as teams. The game was designed with the dice challenges in mind so that those with physical disabilities or those who are younger can enjoy playing as much as the older kids and adults.

The object of the game is to move your character around the board trying to collect pieces for your noun character - either a hat, a head, a shirt, some bling, or a pair of noun glasses.

There are, however, pitfalls. Two special dice either have a stop or a + symbol that allows you to gain or lose pieces, and there are also charity cards with various instructions that allow you to gain or lose pieces as well.

I think the game is fun and engaging, especially for young kids and their parents, but I need your help to get it off the ground.

There are, of course, other games that are challenged-based, but I think the nouns gain differs in that it takes the challenges and incorporates them into a board game. The opportunity to gain and lose pieces at the roll of a die or the draw of a charity card, I think is unique. The moment you think you are close to winning could be the moment that the entire board changes.

My wife and I spent a lot of time coming up with these challenges, some of which are new and some of which are tried and true, but the gameplay is what keeps the game interesting.

I have already created the prototype and we have tested the gameplay, we just need the funds to take it to the next level. Our goal with this fundraiser is to raise enough to get us to a price break that is acceptable for the board, the box, and the cards. The game pieces are being manufactured in-house enabling us to keep the cost down. We will also need to cover shipping and advertising costs as well.

Any donations, of course, would be appreciated.

We are always thinking and on the lookout for new challenges to include in this game, so any donations of $100 or more will get you a free signed edition of the game plus additional cards as they are created.

I can't wait to share The Nouns Game with the world, and I know that with your help I can make this dream a reality. Whether you contribute or help spread the word by sharing the campaign with friends, every little bit brings us closer to creating this truly special game.

Thank you for being a part of this journey!

Best wishes,
Will
