Support Will Quinn-Schofield in his rehab journey in 2025
Donation protected
On the 15th December ‘23 Will (22yrs) had a life changing accident when he dove into shallow water whilst hanging out with friends on Rottnest Island. He broke his neck and sustained an incomplete C5/C6 spinal cord injury which has left him with paralysis, mobility and health issues. Will has reluctantly agreed for us to reach out to his family and friends to ask for your support.
Will spent 6 months in the spinal unit at Fiona Stanley Hospital where he underwent intensive daily rehabilitation which consisted of 12 hours/week (OT, physio and hydro). Because of his determination and hard work he made significant gains in his strength and mobility exceeding his doctor’s prognosis.
After being discharged from hospital in June '24 Will worked hard to continue the same schedule of rehab and built a strong team of professionals around him. However, the reality is that there is limited NDIS funding available for rehab, they cover only two sessions per week. Subsequently, by Xmas '24 Will had exhausted his allocated funding for the year.
Experts say that the first two years following a spinal cord injury are the most crucial if gains are to be made. So this is not the time for Will to slow down, quite the opposite, he is still incredibly motivated and is prepared to give it his all to reach his goals. But without additional financial support his ability to reach his potential is at risk. Will has been in rehabilitation full-time and has not been able to return to work since the accident.
So let's get behind him and show our support by joining team Will and help keep him moving in this crucial second year of his recovery. Any money raised will be used to cover ongoing rehabilitation, medical expenses and to access alternative therapy opportunities.
We thank you for your support, Will and his family are incredibly grateful for your kindness and generosity!
