Help Willie get a new Wheelchair

Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well and having a great day.

 

I am reaching out to everyone as I have started a gofundme page for Everett “Willie” Wilcox. The prices of wheelchairs are high. Willie needs a wheelchair that fits his NEEDS, (not one) the insurance company for which allows him very limited access of his daily living independently.

 

After researching and talking with companies in regards to what would be ideal for Willie I have found one. It would allow him for the first time in 49yrs to go hiking, beaching, out in inclement weather (which he can not do because its being considered user abuse of the wheelchair) independently without being pushed around or left out. He also will be able to work again for the first time since February 1st of 2020.

 

A little bit of history on Willie. He was born in 1972 and at birth was diagnosed with Spina Bifida. He is a paraplegic. Willie has beat all odds and he has had numerous surgeries(14) and has overcome more obstacles with dignity and grace. He is a hard worker and a well respected man and member of the community during which time he worked at the Greyhound bus station/city bus station selling bus tickets for 12yrs. The price that is needed to be raised is $20,000 for a Viking 4×4 and other alterations that may be needed.
