Help Wimborne Town FC during the COVID-19 shutdown
Donation protected
Like many non-league clubs up and down the country the Coronavirus outbreak has left our finances in a precarious position.
In our case we are faced with a double blow. Firstly, with football having stopped early and our clubhouse closed, it has deprived us of vital income whilst we are faced with meeting a number of ongoing bills and commitments without any income for the foreseeable future. Secondly we are due to move into our new ground during season 2020-21 and we were planning various fundraising activities that are now cancelled, or at best on hold. These would have helped to provide a range of new fixtures and fittings, essential to run events and functions at our clubhouse, to replace our tired existing facilities and match our fantastic new surroundings ….items that are simply not covered by the contractor.
This should be a time of great celebration for the club, we’re operating in the Southern Premier Division – the highest league level in our near 150 year history – and are due to take the keys to our new ground later in the year. Instead the very future of the club is under threat, as it is for many clubs, following the Coronavirus outbreak and there is no visibility on when non-league football will be able to recommence.
We are therefore appealing to our loyal fans & army of helpers, as well as the wider football community, to assist us with much needed revenue raising to see us through these challenging times and help us secure the future of our club that supports not just the first team, but 20 youth teams for both boys and girls.
We know that times are tough for everyone and there are many worthy causes seeking assistance at this time, but any donation large or small would go a long way to helping our club. We have a great history and an even brighter future if we survive this. Thanks for your support of the Magpies!
