Wini is one of a kind; an inspiration to all who cross her path. She is one of those people who just radiates this vibrant positive energy – she walks into a room and people stop what they’re doing and gravitate towards her.

Currently a teacher at Braeburn International School Arusha, in Tanzania, Wini is the teacher we all wish we had - funky, cool, finger-on-the-pulse, firm-but-kind. She is a multi-talented human being – teacher, DJ, choreographer, actress, deep thinker and mathematician. Just kidding, not the last one, we can’t all be good at everything! We all adore her and want to help in any way we can.

Wini was diagnosed with Stage 2B, HER 2 Positive Breast Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment in Cape Town. She started her first chemotherapy session a week before Christmas. The recommended management for this is 6 cycles of neo-adjuvant chemotherapy and anti-HER2 therapy followed by surgery, radiotherapy and 14 cycles of further systemic anti-HER2 therapy.

It will be a long and difficult journey and her medical insurance does not cover the full cost of her treatment and nor does a teacher’s salary! Also, her prolonged absence from work while undergoing treatment means that for some months she won’t have an income to cater for her upkeep.

Please help us raise $45,000 to get her through the next 6-12 months, so she can get her treatment without having to worry about this extra burden and so she can focus all her energy on getting completely better.
