Gathering Global Perspectives on 'The Witch'
Hi! We are Sarah Jack and Josh Hutchinson from the Witch Hunt Podcast. Last September, our participation in the Magic and Witchcraft Conference 2024 at York University enabled us to build crucial academic connections and expand our podcast's scholarly network. Through presenting and attending, we successfully brought several new expert perspectives to Witch Hunt Podcast, enhancing our documentation of global perspectives on witchcraft accusations and their complex social histories.
The 2025 conference theme, 'What is a Witch?', presents a vital opportunity to further develop our research and develop a deep understanding of how witchcraft accusations intersect with social, cultural, and historical contexts worldwide. This conference allows us to:
Document diverse scholarly perspectives on witchcraft beliefs and their historical evolution
Engage with researchers studying the social dynamics of witchcraft accusations across different cultures and eras
Build our archive of comparative historical analyses
Connect contemporary issues with their historical precedents and contexts
Witch Hunt Podcast provides a unique platform for exploring these complex historical and contemporary narratives. Your support enables us to continue gathering and sharing critical academic perspectives that illuminate how past social histories inform present understanding.
By helping us attend this conference, you're contributing to the development of a comprehensive scholarly resource that bridges historical research with contemporary analysis. Each contribution supports our ongoing work to document, analyze, and share these important insights.
