Help with a Cancer Battle-Travel Costs
Donation protected
My daughter Samantha has been battling a rare and aggressive sarcoma cancer (DSRCT-Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor) since August 2022. Sam is going through aggressive chemotherapy treatment and is currently completing her last chemo cycle. The next step is a very invasive abdominal surgery to remove all tumors and surrounding tissue. This will be followed by an intense series of whole abdominal radiation.
Sam is getting great care at University Hospital in Aurora, CO. However, for the surgery, Sam and Richard have decided that the best choice is for them to travel to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in New York City and have the surgery done there. MSK is a leader in treating this rare cancer and likely has the most experience in performing this surgery.
Sam and Richard will have to spend at least three weeks in Manhattan starting in early to mid-May. Travel costs, lodging, and related expenses will be over $6000. Sam and Richard have already had to deal with months of increased medical expenses and diminished wages, so financial help for this trip will be so beneficial.
Sam is a warrior and is fighting hard, but still has a tough journey ahead. Any amount is helpful. Your positive thoughts and prayers are ALWAYS appreciated. Many blessings to you.
