Help with Aly's Medical Bills
Hi my name is Cassie and as most of you know I have been Aly's best friend for 60 years (its actually 18 but I'm planning ahead). On May 4th, Aly was diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma or Breast cancer. She recently found out she is HER2 Positive, which means that the cancer is more aggressive and causes the cancer cells to divide and grow at a fast rate. Due to the HER2, she will need 5 months of Chemotherapy, to help try to contain the cancer and keep it from spreading, followed by a double mastectomy and then potentially more chemotherapy and radiation. This will cause Aly to have to take more time off of the job she loves, and possibly unpaid leave to deal with the side effects and destructive nature of the chemotherapy. The road ahead will be long and expensive, with years of follow-up and testing. I am creating this page to hopefully help lessen her financial burden so she can concentrate on her health and her fight.
Some of you may know Aly and some may not so I wanted to give a brief breakdown of some of the facts I have come to learn in my 18 years. Alyson Megan Chorlton is the most thoughtful and passionate human I know. She loves her dogs(honestly its all dogs), coffee and her husband Thomas. She hates snakes, small talk and the smell of musty towels. She loves lilies, the fall, volunteering, traveling, reading, hiking, exploring, sushi(only cooked), patio's, apple orchards, baths, her friends and her family, and so much more. She is a loyal friend, a diligent worker, a compassionate family member, a fiercely loved God mother and a genuinely amazing person. She is stubborn, strong willed, sarcastic, and extremely positive, all of the things she will need to fight this disease.
Thank you for taking the time to read and please keep her in your thoughts and send all the good vibes you can muster. Also if you can afford, please take the time to donate any amount to her ever mounting hospital bills. As I mentioned above, it will be a long road for both her and Thomas and any amount will make a difference.
