Help with an Adjunct Professor's Medical Bills

Hi, my name is CJ Stephens, and I'm an adjunct professor of English. I teach freshman college students how to read and write in a college environment. I do my best to support my students in their college journey and empower them. I love teaching and am thankful for the opportunity.

That's me in the pic, along with my dog Brutus. You can probably figure out who's who, but just in case, he's the cute one.

Here's why I need help: Summers are often tough for adjunct professors, as there aren't as many classes to teach in the summer. That's part of the problem: My first summer class didn't have high enough enrollment to actually happen, and it looks like that's about to happen for my second class as well. Normally I can work around this via tutoring and writing copy and part-time work.

But I've injured my back and can't really move about or stand up properly, and I don't have very good insurance. I'll hopefully be able to see a doctor this week, and chart a plan for fixing things, but right now I have no idea how much that's going to cost. And like I said, I'm pretty sure my second class will happen, and my back limits my ability to find and work other jobs. My savings is almost exhausted, and I don't know what to do. Please help me get my back injuries diagnosed, and maybe even fixed. I really enjoy walking upright! Funds will go toward medical bills first, then house bills I can't cover due to my classes not happening. I don't know how much the back thing will cost, but it's been an ongoing issue for over a decade now, and I'd like to address it rather than accept a lack of mobility and uprightness.
