Help with Cody’s Funeral Costs
Donation protected
Our Cody Lane was about to graduate from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. His career goal was to work in law enforcement at the federal level. He was a cherished son to his parents, Tammy and Shawn. He was a great and hands on big brother to Ryland, who is just 11 years old. He was a protective and caring younger brother to his big sisters Hailey and Jessica, and brother Lucas.
Just months before his large, blended family would come together to see him graduate, at 22 years old, Cody took his own life. As an organ donor, he gifted life to at least four individuals. Among them, someone received heart valves from his huge heart and another now has his beautiful eyes. Although his family is happy that others will live, we just want him back at our sides, hearing his goofy laugh and experiencing his amazing sense of humor.
This is an unimaginable grief that we are all experiencing and despite his parents having multiple policies to assist in funeral expenses, should they ever face this awful reality of burying one of their children, suicide is excluded and no benefits can be issued.
We are humbly asking our friends, colleagues, and family to assist us in the cost of his cremation, service, and other expenses incurred when an unexpected and sudden tragedy such as this occurs. Should donations exceed the total costs, we will donate any remaining money to a suicide prevention organization of our choosing.
