Help with costs for my Dad's final arrangements

My father passed away suddenly on Saturday the 18th of December. One week before Christmas. He didn't have anything in place to cover expenses. The funeral home said his cremation will be $2550, I am trying to collect atleast that amount plus I would like to go to North Carolina to pick up his ashes. If anyone can help in anyway, I would really appreciate it. I really hate asking but I just don't have that money. I wasn't expecting this, who does? Thank you in advance for anyone that can help!
