Help with COVID Medical Bills
Hello! I really don’t like asking for help, but with very limited paid leave time available, we expect to be living without either of our incomes soon. My husband, Sean is a K9 officer in the St. Louis County area & I am a 911 dispatcher for a department in St. Charles County. We have 4 children from 6 yrs down to 5 months old. Sean is a dedicated police officer who loves his job & truly cares about the people he serves. Despite being injured on the job more than once, Sean worked hard to recover quickly & get back to work. A couple of weeks ago, Sean & our youngest baby, Karson were both diagnosed with Covid. Sean was admitted to the hospital on 8/24/21 & he remains there today. His recovery has been more difficult than anything he has faced so far. He has Covid, pneumonia & blood clots in his lungs. He finally seems to be improving but still has physical therapy to strengthen his weakened muscles before he can come home. Thankfully, our infant son has not had many complications & seems like he is feeling better. The reason I’m asking for help is because even with health insurance, we will have some pretty high out of pocket medical bills. At the same time, our income will be significantly lower (possibly zero). I’m not sick but because I have been exposed to Covid, I am not allowed to return to work un 9/21 at the earliest. We don’t have money set aside as, like many young families we tend to live paycheck to paycheck. We are very grateful to anyone who is willing to help us out. Thank you!
