Help with Donny's Funeral Expenses & Kids' Future
Donation protected
No one wants to help a drug addict. I get it. No one wants to help someone who chose drugs over his children.
Addiction is difficult. It’s messy, and it leaves behind a mixture of emotions and grief like no other death. Donny was 27 years old. 27. His mistakes took his life away from him, away from us. His addiction was stronger than he could deal with and as we cope and process this loss, we also process who he was outside of the addiction. He wasn’t just his mistakes. Memories of his childhood and the good things he did overflow and remind us all that He isn’t just a drug addict, he is…was…is also a son, and a brother; a husband, and a father.
It is so difficult to reach out and create a gofundme. The reality of what Donny left us with is a burden not meant to be carried alone. We want to help Alaina, Bryson, and Neveah. At 12, 4, and 2, they didn’t lose a drug addict, they lost their dad. They have lost the one that somehow made magic on Christmas morning and gave them love only a father could give.
But they will never have his love again. They don’t have anyone to call Dada, and they will never see him recover. I am broken at their loss. They are so young, and don’t understand. Nothing will ever fill the void they will carry throughout their life, but, my hope, is as they understand what happened, they will know that we came together as a community and showed Alaina, Bryson, and Neveah support, and love. Lets help guide them towards a life that we couldn’t do for Donny.
