Support Dr Gamal Harris

On March 9, 2021, Dr. Gamal Harris was admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for hepatic encephalopathy (liver failure) and has been hospitalized since. He had a successful liver transplant on June 16th, and then 48 hours later, he was put on a ventilator. On June 28th, Dr. Harris tested positive for the JC Virus -- A rare, fatal virus that attacks the white matter of the brain. Since then, his family made the difficult decision to transition him to hospice care, where he will be comforted and surrounded by loved ones.

Dr. Harris will be remembered as a kind man, loving father, and excellent doctor. Medicine was his passion, and he loved his practice and patients until the very end. He was truly a one-of-a-kind doctor who went above and beyond for his patients, and he will be missed dearly. He was a loyal husband and father as well, and this GoFundMe is to help the Harris family while they prepare to say their goodbyes to Dr. Gamal Harris.
