help with evacuation funds

Hi I am a tenant at westview in Calgary. On Dec 23 2021 we lost heat and water to our building. On dec 24 we lost power to our suites and other areas. By 5 pm that evening we were being told to leave and go to near by hotels or family, it is now Dec 28 and we are still out of our homes. We have been told to claim insurance to pay for our expences, Most policies carry a 1000 dollar deductable. With the displacement of over 300 residents, most students and low income earners, 1000 dollars and disposable income is hard to come by. I am hoping to raise enough money to cover peoples deductables. Lots of people are running out of money for food and the basics for living. I have been in the hotel since friday night. westview has already said they wont pay for any further hotel stays past dec 28. that means over 300 people and their pets will be without a home tomorrow morning at 10 am. A lucky few can afford to stay but not many. People are already doubled up in hotel rooms due to the shortage of avaliblity. Anything you can help with will be appreciated. The funds raised will be divided equally among the residents.
