Help with expenses for Caitlyn and Chandlar Riley
UPDATE-
Kohen had another airway evaluation this past Wednesday. His airway had improved in some spots but one area was as small as a coffee straw so they had to take some more tissue away and dilate it a good bit. Since the airway evaluation he’s been on CPAP and they are hoping to get him back on high flow nasal cannula soon. These next few days they are focusing on letting him rest that way his airway can heal from what all it had done to it. He will have another airway evaluation in 2-3 weeks and his surgeon said they may can take the tumor and partial kidney out at the same time depending on how he is doing at that point and time and if they feel confident in doing so. ENT and nurses have been very honest with Chandlar and Caitlyn that they are not out of the dark yet with having the option for a trach. Of course it’s a lot for them to hear because that’s the reason they went to Nashville to give kohen the best chance and not having to get one. We know God can do all things and we pray he heals kohen's airway completely.
This has been a very long road for them and they will most likely be in Nashville for at least another two months. They loose their room at Ronald McDonald next Friday and will have to find somewhere to stay. After a week they can get back on the list but it’s not guaranteed that they will be able to get a room again.
Thank you all so much for your continued support and prayers!
Kohen Riley was born 6 weeks premature and since has had several surgeries to attach his small intestines and his esophagus. He is so very strong and has fought so hard, but after several attempts at removing him from the ventilator, he will now be transported to Children's Hospital in Vanderbilt to perform the next surgery to hopefully fix his airway so that he will be able to successfully come off of the ventilator. Caitlyn and Chandler will be in Vanderbilt for at least a couple weeks, unfortunately without their 2 year-old Kamden. They will be unable to work so that they can stay with Baby Kohen, so any prayers and donations are much appreciated!
