Help With Funeral Costs For David "Dangerous Dave" Travers

Our dear friend David Travers passed away suddenly and unexpectedly early last week, he is sorely missed by his sister Ann, brother Paddy, extended family, band mates, and his many friends from all over the world.

He was a man of many talents and was incredibly humble. He was a carpenter by trade for much of his life and using his skill and experience he was quick to help friends and family in need and would do so without expecting anything in return.

As he got older he settled down in Wicklow Town, where he spent the remainder of his life, continuing to use his carpentry skills to help people, while also acquiring a deep love and passion for music and writing songs.

Within a short time of becoming interested in music he wrote his first song "I Met My Pet on The Internet" and it was produced by his many musical friends and became an instant classic and a song that he proudly carried with him wherever he went.

He couldn't just stop at one song and continued his musical journey over the years, writing many songs and even producing two albums with his - as he described it - Ska, Punk, Reggae, Folk band, Dangerous Dave and the Side Effects.

Dave lived by the lyrics of all of his songs, "We're here for a good time, not a long time. This ain't no rehearsal."

He had no contingency put aside for such a time as his passing, so we have come to GoFundMe in order to raise funds to help towards his funeral expenses.

For the many people who knew him, they could attest to the fact that he could quickly brighten someone's day, he was an active listener, and he was quick with a story, lyric, or joke for every occasion.

He was a good friend and would have given the shirt off his back to anyone. Dave was always very social and could walk into a room of strangers only to have them singing along to his songs and singing his praises at the end of the night. Dave's personality was so infectious that he made long-lasting friendships everywhere he went.
