Help with Harrison’s medical costs
Donation protected

Hi, many of you know Daniel and myself, and our story. But for those who don’t, we’ve had a very big and traumatic last two years.
Starting with our first pregnancy in 2023, and our son, Alexander. I had undiagnosed severe preeclampsia, which lead to an emergency c section at 28 weeks. Unfortunately, Alexander passed away 5 days post his birth. We were told if we had a pregnancy again, there would be close monitoring and potential early delivery of our second child with a Nicu stay.
Fast forward, to our second pregnancy, with Harrison. At 24 weeks, I was hospitalised in Melbourne for monitoring due to placenta abnormalities and severe preeclampsia. Little Harrison was able to stay in utero until 28 weeks, where he was born via emergency c section and has had a lengthy NICU stay. During Harrison’s stay, he has developed a chronic lung condition, that means we have had to make some structural costly changes at home, and will continue to visit specialist for the first 2 years of his life, to ensure his lungs are developing and growing as they should. Then also specialists to monitor his neurological development due to being born 12 weeks early. Now, due to have a surgery in 6 weeks time at the children’s for a hernia.
As Daniel and myself have already spent a good 3 and half months away from home, we have also spent a good part of our savings, living away from home. Unfortunately , we still have bills to pay for with Harrison due to come home in two weeks. Apart of those costs are accommodation in ballarat, as they can not provide parent accommodation while Harrison stays in the special care at Ballarat base.
We are asking for donations to help with these structural changes at home, accommodation in Ballarat and continued specialists visits in Ballarat and Melbourne for the next year until I can return to work.
We have tried not to ask for financial assistance as long as possible, but we are at a crossroads, where we will completely deplete our savings just trying to get Harrison home. This is really important to us, as we never got to do this with our first son, Alexander.
We appreciate all donations, no matter how big or small.
Thank you,
Daniel, Kirsten and Harrison
