Help with Housing

Those of you who know me know that it's been a difficult year for me. When I defended my doctoral dissertation in May, thus completing my graduate program, I lost my job as a graduate teaching assistnt. I hadn't found another job although I had started looking in February. My savings were shot, as being a grad student doesn't pay much, so I was unable to pay my rent. I moved to Denver to live with some friends while I got back on my feet, and finally found a job as a social worker in August. I've fortunately been able to pay down most of the bills I accrued while I was unemployed, but now I'm needing to find other housing arrangements ASAP, and I haven't had an opportunity to start saving money yet. Long story short, I need to come up with a security deposit + first month's rent, and perusing apartment listings and Craigslist have led to the calculation that this will come to around $1200, more or less (around $600 for a security deposit, $600 for first month's rent). That's almost an entire paycheck for me, and it's just not feasible at this point.
Ideally, I would need the whole amount by November 1st, as that's the earliest I'll be able to sign a lease. Any amount will help. Please, please help me be able to afford not to be living in my car, because at the moment that's pretty much my only other option.
