Help With Jason Kauffman’s Transplant Expenses
Donation protected
The first word that comes to mind when describing Jason is selfless. He is truly the kind of person who will go out of his way to help people - even total strangers - with no expectations of anything in return. He sincerely seeks to make the world a better place.
While there are countless examples of that in the years I’ve known him, most recently was his crusade to help secure vaccine appointments for those who were struggling to find them on their own. He helped nearly 100 people secure appointments, many of whom he’s never personally met. A local news station even did a spot on his efforts dubbing him the “vaccine angel”. (See the news coverage on Jason helping others with vaccines here)
Now, that angel needs some angels of his own. Jason has been diagnosed with advanced liver disease. He’s spent several weeks in the hospital undergoing dozens of tests and treatments. He has recently been transferred to a transplant unit where he is being evaluated as a candidate for a liver transplant.
Jason and his amazing wife Stacy are facing enormous medical expenses. They are both self employed, which means Jason’s income has been reduced to zero (and he will likely be unable to resume working for quite some time). Stacy has been spending every day by Jason’s side, supporting him and working with his care team to get him the best treatment possible, which has impacted her income as well.
They would personally never ask for help- they like to be the givers, not the receivers. But knowing how they would give or do anything to help the people around them, I wanted to ask for help on their behalf.
Anything that anyone is able to give is so very appreciated. All donations will go directly to Jason and Stacy for assistance with Jason’s medical costs and living expenses.
