Help with Kara’s achy-breaky heart

Donation protected

This is Kara. She is a hardworking,  quick witted, compassionate, single mother of two and  is very sick. It’s difficult to ask for prayers and help, but  Kara’s insurance has left us with no other choice

Late 2019, Kara started experiencing heart
problems that consequently lead to pulmonary
issues. She was admitted into the hospital in
December 2019 and rang 2020 in from the
hospital. A week later she had her 29th birthday and left the hospital with her very own live feed heart monitor and oxygen.

She had test after test ran with doctors and
specialists commenting that she had the heart
of an 80 year old.  Kara was put in touch with a
cardiologist in Houston.  She would drive four
hours one way for her appointments.

During all this testing, it was discovered she had gall stones and would need her gallbladder
removed. Due to the severity of her heart and
lungs, the drs were concerned with having her
under anesthesia so for months she suffered
with gallbladder pain. When the fear of
gangrene became a real concern, the gallbladder
was removed. Kara returned to work three days later!

Kara was diagnosed with chronic respiratory
failure, tachycardia, bradycardia, sic sinus,
asthma, anemia, and sodium deficiency.  She has a valve that leaks blood into her lungs. The
cardiologist started working with colleagues to
find a way to help her.

Kara was so weak, pale, frail, and exhausted all
the time.  She had large dark circles around her eyes. She went to work every day and would
sleep in her car on her lunch breaks because she would be so tired.

In September 2020, Kara had a pacemaker
implanted. She called telling me that she could
instantly tell a difference and was excited that
she felt better.  She had a few seizures the night of the surgery by the next day she was sore but
ready to make the four hour ride home. She
returned to work just two days after having a
pacemaker installed. The pacemaker was life
changing and Kara was thrilled that she was able to resume her life.  She looked healthy again.

By December 2020, Kara wasn’t feeling so well any longer and she was having lots of chest pain.Concerned she might have damaged a lead to
the pacemaker she went to the ER. The drs
discovered  she had blood clots in her lungs and
legs.

February 12,2021 the cardiologist told Kara he has done all he can for her at this point. He has
started the process of getting Kara put on the transplant list.  He prescribed her another
medication and instructed her that she will now need to wear compression hose instead of the
compression socks.

Kara’s insurance company denied the
medication- it’s over $1200 for a month supply! The insurance company said when she has
congestive heart failure they will approve it. By
then it will be too late for Kara. This medication
is needed because Kara’s heart will race up to
over 200 BPM.

The customized compression hose are nearly
$500 a pair. Her insurance rates went up and
she is due to have several more tests ran.

We are grateful for everything and appreciate
any help you may be able to give Kara! She just want to live so she can raise her babies! Please
keep my baby girl in your thoughts and prayers!
