Help with Madi & Sophia Lehman’s medical bills
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Cori Spisak (or Aunt Co-Co). Kara Lehman is my niece and her husband is Nick Lehman. She became pregnant with twin girls and then found out they had Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) and later Twin Anemia Polycythemia Sequence (TAPS). Because of these conditions, Kara had to be admitted to York Hospital several weeks before the birth of the twins for close monitoring. In addition, she had to be transferred to CHOP, for the twins to have in -utero surgery. Upon completion, then she was transferred back to York Hospital. Finally, when she was 30 weeks pregnant they determined it was time to deliver the twins. They were born via C-section on May 16, 2023. Sophia Brooke Lehman was born weighing 2 lbs 14 oz and Madison Elise Lehman at 2 lbs 13 oz. Of course, they were taken directly to the NICU, where Madi remains as of today. Sophia was able to come home on July 5. Madi then had to go to Johns Hopkins for surgery because she kept getting sick after she ate. Thankfully, they did surgery on her intestines and found a stricture and removed it. She bounded back like a champ. If all goes according to plan Madi may come home on August 6. That will be 10 days shy of 3 months for her to have been in the hospital.
So as you can imagine with all of the above and the many trips back and forth to CHOP, York Hospital and then Johns Hopkins, the medical bills will be mounting let alone all the gas and hotel room expenses they have already had to incur. Nick and Kara would never ask for this help but I'm praying we can rally around to provide a little financial assistance to them. Any help you can provide, even if it's $5 is greatly appreciated.
