Help with Marissa’s Cancer Expenses

Marissa has had a rough last couple of months. After a trip to the ER for severe pelvic pain her doctor told her she had what looked like a large fibroid on her uterus. She was then scheduled for surgery to remove the fibroid and hopefully resolve her problems. The surgery went well and the doctor removed as much of the mass as possible. After surgery, he told her that it in fact was not a fibroid and came back from the lab positive for a cancer called endometrial stomal sarcoma (ESS). What a scary thing to hear… Because this is type of cancer cannot be treated with Chemo or Radiation she will have to have a hysterectomy to ensure that it is all removed. Her surgery for her hysterectomy is Monday. Even after having a hysterectomy, reoccurrence of the cancer is something that she will have to keep an eye on for the rest of her life. Not only is she going to be unable to work and get a pay check for the next 6+ weeks but her insurance will not cover the cost of the surgeries or medical bills at OU. We are trying to raise some money in hopes of relieving at least some of the financial burden and stress as she heals and goes through this difficult time.
