ANGEL UPDATE:
so…  Jeremy was all set to be released to go home with me today at 11am… I wasn’t happy because they wanted him to just hopefully be able to wait 2 weeks until his scheduled surgery… I knew he wouldn’t make it to even Sunday let alone 2 whole weeks- this has happened many times- it’s a pattern…
At 10am I texted Jeremy asking how he was feeling
at 10:30am a nurse calls me, from his phone and tells me he is dizzy and feeling like he might vomit.. I asked her if his arms were sweating (only sign he gets before vomiting blood)
 she said yes…
I told her he’s going to vomit blood NOW…
he definitely did… and a lot, he almost lost consciousness sitting on the bathroom floor…
So emergency surgery by noon- what should have been done so so long ago he was responsive and talking to me when I got here- just after he woke up… he IS in pain- but it’s a lot of the gas pain that goes with the gastric surgery…. He’s asleep and that’s fine with me because right now is the FIRST glimmer of hope I’ve had since this entire nightmare started in November…. Hoping  that he might actually get back to feeling normal- like for real normal— not just in “stable condition” or until it gets “really really bad”- aka TODAY…

He’s on the mend- I’ll know more later- for now there’s hope ❤️ thank you everyone! ❤️

UPDATE:
By Angel
February 26, 2024

Jeremy woke up this morning and was getting ready for work, when he suddenly started violently vomiting blood at home around 4:40 am. I got him to the ER by 5:10 am and he continued to lose blood at the hospital… he was transferred to Abbott from Cambridge medical around 12:40 pm today.
This is all extremely frustrating,  terrifying, beyond unbelievable, it's crushing… He was finally just getting back to fully working and getting caught up on the bills… I hope someone at Abbott can find the problem- if not we have to keep hoping and to keep our sights on the Mayo Clinic appointment he still has on March 11

(he made that appointment in December when this bleed erupted last time)

I will keep everyone updated everywhere I can. Please please keep us in your thoughts and prayers again… we are crushed that it came back with a vengeance. Thank you everyone that has helped in any way so far! We would've been completely lost without the love and support from everyone! Thank you!
With love
Angel, Jeremy, Gavin, Chloe & Tanner

————————————————-

Hello my name is Chelsey. I am making this on behalf of my best friend Angel, her husband Jeremy, and their 3 children. Jeremy is the sole provider for the family, and he is a small business owner, semi driver.
He has no benefits through his work which is making this horrific situation even worse. With no income coming in I am hoping to help this financial burden for the family.

Currently since Thanksgiving he’s had:
11 blood transfusions
3 ambulance rides
3 different hospitals in a week
10 CT scans
8 endoscopes (1/17/24)
3 X-rays
2 clips on the ulcer
1 double balloon Enteroscopy

The list is growing by the day unfortunately Here is their story SO FAR.

“Our WORST nightmare… So this horrific nightmare with Jeremy started on Thanksgiving 2023 when he vomited blood… he felt fine UNTIL last Sunday (November 26)…at about 5am… I woke up to him needing to go to the bathroom, he said SOMETHING felt WRONG… then the next thing I hear is a big BOOM I Run to the bathroom and see Jeremy sitting up against/IN our tub/shower combo… he wasn’t responsive AT ALL- I screamed and cried even slapping his face to get him to come to… He ONLY remembers waking up to me screaming and crying in his face… he then lost a TON of blood in the bathtub… I got him to the other bathtub and cleaned him up, got him dressed and to the ER within 20 mins… he would’ve died if I hadn’t of heard him fall- that’s so scary to realize… He was given his FIRST blood transfusion… then he was transferred from Mercy Cambridge, MN to Abbots Minneapolis, MN after like 6hrs in the ER…
At abbots he had to have like 3 more Blood transfusions. They found during the endoscopy that there was/IS a HUGE ULCER at the opening of his stomach. They couldn’t do anything to it because it was in a VERY sensitive/difficult spot due to gastric bypass/RNY that could NOT have blood flow interrupted.. So they gave him a bunch of meds and kept him for 2.5 days.
So again, fast forward to Thursday (Nov.30, 2023)- he had a checkup and I said he looked off (color wise) his hemoglobin was an 8 so they weren’t worried and we went home ‍… By Friday, (December 1, at around 6 am) he’s driving to work and he HAS to pull over because he had to vomit- it was ALLLL blood… he called an ambulance and was taken to Mercy in Coon Rapids at like 6am… I rush to the ER there and he was in bad shape… We were waiting in the ER room for 8 hrs total… of those 8hrs we saw another human maybe 5x… he literally was pulling sensors off JUST to get SOMEONE to come to the room to HELP HIM.. NO ONE CAME to those alarms- not for a FULL HOUR.. not to mention they were NOT there to aid him in getting off the hospital gurney and onto the hospital commode (rolling toilet with a bucket) when he was finished passing just straight blood clots, AGAIN NO ONE CAME to EMPTY or CLEAN out that commode for OVER an HOUR… It smelled HORRIFIC- worst smell of death and decay I’ve EVER smelled… when we FINALLY did get moved to a room, the nurses did much better and took better care of him… 4 days LATER they did ANOTHER endoscopy and saw that the ulcer had shrank a little, so this time they were able to put a small clip on the ulcer… he’s had 7 blood transfusions since LAST Sunday, (November 26). Tomorrow, (Saturday, December 2) they might take another look at the ulcer- if it’s in a “good way” they will either cauterize it OR they will try to cut off blood flow to the ulcer- which is the WORST case scenario BECAUSE it could interrupt blood flow to his stomach- which would be BAD…*
*UPDATE** (they ended up re-clipping it again) last night (December 3) at around midnight his hemoglobin dropped to a 6… had his 7th blood transfusion then… whew needless to say, this all has been a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE … TERRIFYING doesn’t even come CLOSE to explaining how this all feels… he will is stuck at Mercy for at least a couple more days. I want this TO BE OVER already.. this has ALL been a HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE that we can’t seem to wake up from… (he was released from the hospital December 5, 2023)

December 6, 2023 at around 930pm I had to call 911 to get an ambulance to our house because he was passing A LOT of blood again- this time thankfully in the toilet— and then started vomiting a MASSIVE amount of blood into the toilet and eventually the bathtub… he was going to pass out and go unconscious… just like the first time when I heard him fall into the tub…. They brought him straight to Mercy Coon Rapids, MN… and the real nightmare began… we waited in the ER in a very small room for 8 hours before we eventually moved to a room to stay in… the room they put us in was the OLDEST ROOM in the hospital… it was ALSO used for MENTALLY UNSTABLE PATIENTS- they had a huge camera in the room they claimed WASNT ON or used anymore- hubby took a pic and could see the IR lights, so it was on… the equipment was broken/cracked walls were torn up scratched… he wasn’t connected to any machines to monitor him or any IVs…. they just STUCK him in the furthest corner of the hospital and they bled his insurance dry for 4 days… the attending doctor wasn’t even a GI specialist or ANYTHING related to emergency or gastric, he was a new family doctor… the nurse even tried having Jeremy thrown out of the hospital by a nurse who didn’t like that he used the “F word” she liter Didn’t say anything about language or that she was offended or to stop… she literally just said I’m calling security… they cleared everything up obviously lol and he just sat for 4 days at the beginning of the weekend too… on the 4th day they FINALLY did a checked the ulcer and that didn’t cause this bleed… they waited until the 4th day to do that double balloon endoscopy/colonoscopy… they found NOTHING… he was done actively bleeding by the 2nd day, so ALL the tests they WAITED to do, were POINTLESS because whatever caused this had healed up or clotted… the ulcer was basically healed and showed no signs of any issues, anywhere else smh… it was awful… I cried so hard leaving him there in that room alone… THEN as if all that wasn’t enough for me to deal with…. on Sunday night around 8:30 pm (December 10) AFTER visiting with my hubby (with our 9yr old daughter) at the hospital, I hit my FIRST DEER with my truck … I felt soooooo TERRIBLE… The FIRST question I asked the cop that was behind me was:
“Is the deer okay!?!?!?”
he said:
“no, no it’ssss not okay… but let’s focus on you and your daughter right now..”
poor deer…
THANKFULLY it didn’t suffer and my daughter and I were ok… truck was drivable so that was good too… but it was crushed/busted up in the bumper and along my side of the truck….

Jeremy was released again from Mercy Coon Rapids, MN on Tuesday (December 11, 2023) he has had 2 checkups and they scheduled more tests and 2 referrals to get him into Mayo clinic, Minnesota… hopefully they can figure out what happened and or tell us what it is, because we are living EVERY DAY in TERROR, worrying and wondering if he will have ANOTHER bleed out of NO WHERE… There is literally NO WARNING SIGN.. it just HAPPENS and we HAVE to get him to a hospital ASAP..
We will NEVER step foot into Mercy hospital in Coon Rapids, MN EVER AGAIN… never, ever, EVER!!!!!!

So far he is stable, no blood AT ALL- his color is still OFF so I’m keeping an eye on him… he’s been out of work for almost 4 weeks and is slowly going back to work with his work MAKING SURE he isn’t overburdened or feeling badly etc.. With him being the sole provider in this house the holidays are going to extremely rough… which I feel the worst for our 3 kids, Gavin 15, Chloe 9, Tanner 7…”

It will be VERY tight and VERY stressful this year so ANYTHING you can do to help this family would be a blessing. If you aren’t able to help financially, sending love and prayers their way are appreciated, sharing helps the most- seriously it does!!!

PLEASE SHARE THIS!
We will keep you updated on his status!
