Help with Medical and Travel Cost for Luke Ragas
Donation protected
Your help and prayers are needed for Luke Ragas who is suffering from Hereditary Pancreatitis. It is a rare genetic condition characterized by recurrent episodes of pancreatic attacks causing abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Luke has had the condition his entire life but about four years ago when he was a junior in high school the condition worsened. He and his family have been battling the condition for the past four years. They have visited multiple doctors which have prescribed various medications and strict diets. Despite all their efforts Luke’s condition has continued to worsen. In late 2018, at the age of 20, Luke suffered from a terrible bout of pancreatitis, which left him hospitalized for nearly 2 months. At this point, the doctors recommended that Luke have surgery to remove his pancreas completely. After this surgery, Luke will immediately become diabetic because the pancreas’ key function is to produce insulin which regulates blood sugar. The surgery is scheduled for the middle of June 2019 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center where they specialize in pancreatic diseases. I’m asking for your help to lighten the burden of the families travel expenses since the recovery will be a few months. Luke will have to stay in St. Paul, Minnesota, with a parent, while he recovers from a major surgery and while his body adjust to becoming diabetic. The Ragas family, Harry, Stacey, Luke, Hanna, and Isaac are about go through a very rough time and if you could please donate any amount, no matter how small, together we can make this difficult time just a little easier. Thank you.
