Help with Medical Expenses for Gabby & Kendon
Hello, we are Nate and Kerrie Crain. We are reaching out to our friends and family to help a family who is near and dear to our hearts. When times get tough it is important to pull together and support each other.
Josh and Laura are the nicest, most caring people. Both willing to drop whatever they're doing to help a friend in need. For those of you who have the pleasure of calling them your friend, you will know what we mean. Unfortunately, Josh and his family have bored their fair share of tragic family events. None though more than what they're experiencing right now. Over the last couple of weeks, 2 of their three children have been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
Gabby, their oldest daughter, began acting differently. She is a beautiful young and vibrant young lady who suddenly became very lethargic, tired, lost her appetite, and appeared distant. Realizing something was wrong, Laura took Gabby to her pediatrician, who had her tested and sent her immediately to Valley Children's Hospital, where she was admitted. After several nights the doctors diagnosed her with Type 1 diabetes.
Days later, Laura begins to observe similar symptoms coming from their middle son, Kendon. Based on all she just experienced with Gabby and now hyper-vigilant to Type 1 diabetes, she took Kendon to get tested as well; the Dr. called the following day and immediately sent them to Valley Children's hospital. He, too, was admitted and diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. One of their endocrinologist (doctor specializing in diabetes) told Laura that in his 50 years of practicing medicine, he's never heard of or known of two siblings being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes days apart.
Now, the good news is, Gabby and Kendon will be fine with the proper levels of insulin.
The bad news is;
1. Both kids will need to take insulin every single day for the rest of their lives.
2. The cost of insulin is $1,500 per month ($750 per child)
3. They are traveling to specialists in Stanford and having to pay out of pocket for hotel/gas expenses
We are asking for the help of our friends and family to come alongside Josh, Laura, Gabby, Kendon, and Nolan and offset these ridiculous but much-needed medical expenses.
Josh and Laura are not the ones to ask for help. We brought this fundraiser idea to them, and they both are reluctant. This just further proves how selfless they are. They don't want to burden anyone else with their burden. We don't want the Randol's to fight this fight alone. We want them to know that their family, friends, and community will be by their side as they transition to their new normal. Let's show the Randol family that they are not in this alone. If you are unable to donate please keep them in your prayers AND share this post. Help spread the word.
