Help with Medical Expenses for Matt Schrott

We are Matt's sisters and looking to raise funds for Matt's medical care, so that he can focus on healing.

On September 29, 2023, Matt went into sudden cardiac arrest while having breakfast with our parents. We were lucky that there were two CNAs there that performed life-saving CPR until the paramedics could arrive. The doctors told us that about only 1 out of 10 people survive a sudden cardiac arrest.

Matt spent 3 weeks in the ICU. While in ICU, he had multiple setbacks and surgeries. He is making slow progress every day, but he has a long road ahead of him. He will also have to overcome the next challenges which are surgery for a permanent defibrillator and surgery to reconnect his small and large intestine.

He has been unable to work and is currently on medical leave without pay. Matt is not one to ask for help or be very public about his life. Matt finally agreed to allow his sisters to set up this page. Money raised will go towards his medical bills, upcoming medical procedures, personal expenses and to hire home health care support.
