Help With Medical Expenses & Prayers for Ernie V.

On Sunday night my brother, Ronald, picked up my nephew, Ernie, from work a few miles away from home. The weather conditions were awful and they knew they had to drive carefully on the way home due to ice on the road. Regardless of his best efforts, he lost control of the vehicle and they were in a terrible accident. My brother suffered a few fractures and a minor head injury, but my nephew’s injuries were severe.
He is currently hospitalized in Laredo and is in critical condition with a collapsed lung, sternal and clavicular fractures, and multiple fractures of the spinal column. He is waiting on transportation to San Antonio as his injuries are too severe to be treated where he is, but they’re working on making sure he is stable enough to transport.
We are so grateful that they’re still with us. By the grace of God they survived, and we know He will be by their side as they heal, but it’ll be a long recovery. Aside from the countless diagnostic tests, surgical procedures, and transportation fees, the healing process will require extensive therapy.
Family and friends, on behalf of my sister in law, Tina, our family humbly comes to you asking for support. Above all things, we ask for your prayers. We know God is good and faithful. They will overcome.

El Domingo en la noche, mi hermano, Ronnie, fue a recoger a mi sobrino, Ernie, del trabajo. Las condiciones estaban muy feas pero solo estaba a unas cuantas millas de la casa y sabían que tenían que manejar con mucho cuidado. Sin embargo, hubo un pedazo de hielo en la calle y mi hermano perdió control de el vehículo. Sufrieron un accidente muy grave.
Mi hermano solo obtuvo unas cuantas fracturas pequeñas y lesion craneal, pero mi sobrino sufrió lesiones muy grabes y esta en condición muy critica. Sufrio fracturas de la clavícula y esternón, un pulmón colapsado, y varias fracturas de la columna. Se encuentra hospitalizado en Laredo pero sus lesiones son muy graves y necesita ser trasladado a San Antonio en cuanto este estable.
Damos gracias a Dios que siguen con nosotros y que solo por Su divina gracia sobrevivieron, pero el proceso de recuperación va ser muy largo y doloroso. Ademas de los exámenes diagnósticos y surgías que se esperan, necesitara mucha terapia física.
Amigos y familiares, de parte de mi cuñada, Tina, nuestra familia viene humildemente a ustedes pidiendo apoyo.. Mas que nada, les pedimos mucha oración. Sabemos que Dios es bueno y fiel. El nos escuchara y les ayudara a superar este momento tan difícil.
