Help with Millie’s Surgery Expenses

Hi, my name is Mindy and one of my best friends, Millie, was severely injured in a hit and run today. I rushed her to the vet and after X-rays, discovered she has a severely broken pelvis which will require extensive surgery.
Millie is such a sweet girl. She’s only a year old, half beagle, half mountain feist. I have Aspergers, and she has been such a soothing presence to me ever since we adopted her. I can’t imagine how devastated I would have been had she died today.
Right now, she is being closely monitored at Emergency Vet Services in Roanoke for the weekend. The first 48 hours after being hit by a car are the most crucial, and they are making sure her pain is controlled and watching for any signs of internal injuries.
The vet called a little while ago and said the orthopedic pet surgeon has decided Millie’s fracture was too severe for him to operate on, so he referred us to a specialist surgeon in Greensboro.
Greensboro is quite a drive away, and I will have to take her there Tuesday and probably stay a few days until she is cleared to go home after surgery. She has a long journey of healing ahead of her, and I am heartbroken but determined to see her happy and playful again. She is the sweetest pet, always happy, always playful, and always there for me.
Now it’s my turn to be there for her, and I would be grateful for any financial help as well as good thoughts and prayers that come our way.
Thank you all so, so much.
And Zuri, our cat, will sure love to get her napping buddy home…
