Help Mary Faye on Her Final Journey

Hi friends!
It is with a heavy heart that Rachel and I reach out to you during this unimaginably sad time. As many of you know, our Mom, Mary Faye, has been fighting what we thought was early onset dementia for almost two years now.
Last October, we moved Mom from Alabama to Los Angeles to be near me. Since the move, her reality has become a non-stop nightmare of doctor visits, brain scans, different medications, and rushing to the emergency room multiple times a week from falling and near-fatal choking.
To make matters even worse, two months ago we discovered that dementia is only one piece of the puzzle — Mary Faye was diagnosed with a rare neurological disease called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/progressive-supranuclear-palsy/symptoms-causes/syc-20355659). This is a degenerative neurological disorder in which movement, swallowing, speech, vision, and thinking ability deteriorate over time.
There is no cure.
She often chokes from trying to simply swallow her saliva, turning purple and unable to gasp for air, and constantly expresses that it is excruciatingly painful to swallow her now pureed diet - She is now down to 95 lbs.
As Mom’s condition has worsened to her current state, her expenses for care have skyrocketed to $800 a day. Medical bills add even more. As you can well imagine, these expenses are not sustainable for long.
We have accepted that our one-of-kind, incredible lady-love will soon be leaving us for heaven. We just hope to be able to keep her comfortable and cared for during this incredibly sad process as we lead her to her final, peaceful destination.
Anything at all helps, as at this moment it is also about feeling support and love from those that Mary Faye loved most. Thank you all in advance, and G-d bless you!
