Help with moving for my health.

Like the song says, what I love is killing me.

When I was a little girl, I wanted to live in Denver and be a writer.
For years we lived near Denver, raised the boys there, and a passel of cats. And wrote a lot of novels. I loved the state, loved our weekend vacations in Denver.

My health slowly went South, but I thought it was just the price of being older.

Five years ago, we found a beautiful, big house near where our older son needed us to be. And we loved the house too. Honestly, we could only afford it because it was a short sale, with a ton of maintenance.
But my health deteriorated even faster. And I was struggling to work, struggling to focus well enough to finish longer works, and always exhausted.
I thought it was normal, fixed symptoms as I found solutions, or just coped. The price of growing old.

Then, on a visit with friends, I suddenly realized that I was able to think clearly. No allergy attacks. No foggy brain. I could finally THINK, like I used to. I could sleep again!
Talking to a doctor, she said, as if I should know: “Well, it’s the price you pay for living in Colorado.”
The altitude was slowly killing me. And it would only get worse, faster.

So, we found a new place, but between the pandemic shutdown, and it being an emergency move where we needed to do all that deferred maintenance we hadn’t yet fixed, we’ve drained our savings and are in jeopardy. Just traveling to look for a place, which took half a year, was ruinous. Moving to another state has been a nightmare of costs.

And getting the house fixed took more money and time than we expected. Now the bill is due, and the house is just going up for sale. There is no way it sells in time to pay the huge materials and fix up bill.

After much urging from friends and family, I am asking for help.

Honestly, I hate to. But I’ve never fundraised for my work on the blog or elsewhere. Heck, I only put up a donation button after fans demanded it. And we really are in a bad pinch. And I don't see any other way around it.
