Help with my comics research into Victor Fox

NEW STRETCH GOAL!

Thanks to everyone's generosity, I met my initial goal to cover the cost of an independent researcher to access and copy the documents. I've added an additional $100 to cover the cost of printing out hard copies of the 2,000 pages, and also provide a cushion in case the researcher runs over his estimate.

My name is Chris Irving, and I'm a long-established comic book historian also working on a dissertation. My studies focus on the superhero radio shows of the 1940s, including The Blue Beetle, based off the comic book published by notorious publisher Victor Fox.

I'm no stranger to Fox: My first published book, The Blue Beetle Companion, is the only publishing history of that long-running character, and my next book will focus solely on Fox. So far, I've uncovered the court documents to three other lawsuits between Fox and other publishers (to go along with the transcript of the infamous Wonder Man lawsuit against Detective Comics), and I just found the BIG one:

Victor Fox's bankruptcy records. They clock in at a whopping 2,000 pages! I mean, I knew he was famous for fleecing people, but he must have really owed a ton of folks! The kicker is they are located in Kansas City and will require me to hire an independent researcher to go down and scan all the records. The cost should be around $400, but I'd like to build a cushion in just in case.

This is where you can come in: The sooner I can raise that cash, the sooner we can get these scanned and documented. Digging through these vast reams of papers may give us some enormous insights to both Fox and how business was done back then.
