Help with Palliative Care for Service Dog

Donation protected
Our beloved dog Harvey had trouble breathing last night. We took him to the vet today, and they recommended that we take him to the animal hospital because it may have been a heart problem. Harvey has small tumors throughout his lungs, which is cancer. The vet gave him a timeline of 2 weeks to 2 months. We brought him home for us to spend time with him until we have to say our final goodbyes. Until then, they've given us antibiotics and steroids to help him breathe better. The vet said as long as the steroids are working, the inflammation around the tumors will let him breathe normally, and he can live a happy life.

It's hit Andrew very hard. Andrew rescued him from a shelter the day they were going to euthanize him because he was considered not adoptable since Harvey wouldn't interact with people and was so fearful. Andrew taught him to trust, and now he is the biggest cuddle bug. Harvey is also Andrew's service dog. He assists him with his PTSD and helps calm him down.

The medical bills and medication happened unexpectedly, of course, and we are short on rent. We are hoping that anyone can help us in this very difficult time as we prepare for more medication costs and possible euthanasia services.
